I don’t want to be too harsh on Ol’ Cult Leader Starlight, but I have to think that she wouldn’t get along very well with Reformed Starlight. Cult Leader Starlight couldn’t stand the idea of ponies having their own identity. It’s ironic because it turns out that she happens to be among Equestria’s elite when it comes to magical ability. It makes you wonder what lengths she must have gone to to deny that part of herself for so long.

Another option is “ equal hairstyle Starlight “ … it can both mean evil and hairstyle . But not necessary to be evil . I heard some people still like her old hairstyle . Then it do need to be easy to search .

I personally love her new mane style better. Not on;y does it suit her more, but it’s also unique.

Well, you give me something to think about. Actually I believe that they still would get along, but for a different reason. Actuallly Actually I think that these two shouldn’t be two different personalities. It’s more two sides of one coin, I you know what I mean. You usually don’t change 180° just because you recognize you’re wrong. And I’m verrrrrry pleased, that the show staff acknowledged this with Marks for Efforts. I can’t say how much this episode means to me considering Starlights character development. ;-)

Here is my reason, why I like Equality Starlight:
- Being proud in your beliefs
- No pony will be left behind
- Always filled with cheer
- Knowing that all your friends will be there too
- Don’t have to wait to find out your destiny
- Don’t be separate (as a German who actually has experienced the reunification of Germany, you may can imagne, what this means to me)
- No Ego-filled competition (everypony wins!)
- Everyone is equal, no one is superior
- Working as a team
- See eye-to-eye with others
- Learn to act as one
- Learn to simplify
Seriously, most people like the reformed Changelings for acting as a swarm, but Equality is bad!? Ugh!
Starlight has build up an entire community around these standards. And I’m very happy, that the people of Our Town still live and work together. Yes, the “I steal your Cutie Mark (evil laughter here)” plot was understandable. And I’m fine with everyone get them back, Starlight has learnt her lesson, yada, yada, yada… But I still believe, that the Equality community was not bad at all. It based on a misapprehension, because Starlight thought Sunburst has quit the friendship with her because he received his cutie mark. Actually it was because he was unable to complete Celestias School of Magic (what makes me wonder about the high standards there, but Unicorn society is a touchy topic at all).
So, what’s my point? I think, that Equality could have worked, if the Mane 6 didn’t burst in for plot convenience. My headcanon: the Tree of Harmony knows what it is doing. Starlight was and is needed elsewhere, for Equestria’s sake. That’s cool, I love it. But don’t mess with my Equality Appreciation. Equality was not wrong. ;-D
So, thanks to all in this thread for vent my feelings about this. MegaAnimationFan, I’m sorry for being offensive and lash out to you. I should have know better. I’m good with all of us back on track in our common admiration for Starlight Glimmer. Maybe we have different reasons to like her, but she is “best” pony for all of us. ;-D

No need to apologize. I get what you are coming from. In fact, I believe that the whole equality idea is a good one on paper and is actually kinda admirable. It’s just she when about it the wrong way. Starlight’s “villainy” is actually kind of an interesting one. Good thing with good intentions, but done the wrong way or taken too far it quickly turns into a bad thing. That’s why of ALL the villains the show has reformed, Starlight makes the most sense. She had the same goals as Twilight. Give friendship to others who need it and spread harmony. So it makes sense for the Princess of Friendship to show her a better way an teach her the true way of friendship and that the incident that happened to her as a child isn’t how things are. So Starlight didn’t change, her point of view did. Mostly.
And anyone who thinks else doesn’t know what the fuck they’re talking about. Just saying, all this is crystal clear and if they can’t see that, it’s their fault. Not the show saff’s.

You make some good points. Two sides of coin indeed. To be completely honest, I would dig Starlight even if she never did find that missing part of herself. It could be argued that the village had its upside, and there’s no doubt that Starlight cared deeply about her humble & selfless followers. I’m just glad everything worked out before all the ponies drank the kool-aid!

And I was full like s**t. But that’s the funny part. I know everyone is thinking we Germans are no funny people. But you would be suprised how much fun we have here. And we don’t care about sex, nationality, color, etc. Give us 3-4 beers and we love the whole world. And every people in it. ;-D
