Stuff You Notice About Rarity

So, at this point I think most of us know that Rare wears false eyelashes. But have you noticed that when she doesn’t have them on she has no eyelashes?

She probably cut them so it won’t appear with the false ones.

False Eyelashes. I wonder if she does have tiny eyelashes.

Throughout Season 3, not only did she not have an episode of her own, she had been apparently doing a lot of things offscreen.

Rarity secretly runs most of Equestria’s major industries. It takes up a lot of her time.

Her jewel based designs are overtly gaudy to the point of both novelty and brain overload. Her dresses without jewels look much better.

Rarity is surprisingly athletic, and enjoys fighting, even though she doesn’t seek them out. She’s also shown more sophistication in her combat skills than most of the other Manes.
 
All in all, that implies an interesting bit of back story.

Rarity may have an affinity with gemstones and often incorporate them onto her designs. But she doesn’t appear to cut those jewels. Perhaps jewelery making is not her specialty and she had somepony else cut the fire ruby for her.

The gems aren’t “cut”; Equestrian gems just naturally start out that way. DYEWTS?

But there is a jeweler down the street of Ponyville. Rarity doesn’t seem to specialize in making jeweleries.
 
She is able to shake off mud and dirt easily as shown in sisterhooves episode. Why is even worried about getting dirty in the first place?

He SELLS gems. That doesn’t mean he cuts them. Gems have been shown on numerous occasions in their pre-mining state, and every single time they’re already “cut”.

Rings and necklaces don’t occur naturally, not even in Equestria. They do cut them to right sizes to fit on certain applications.

Necklaces don’t, but they appear to just pick gems that already fit, or design the necklace around the gem.

So? That doesn’t mean that gems in the shape needed are always available. Why would we think that ponies refrain from cutting gems when they need a specific design?

I wonder what Rarity would be capable of wearing the Alicorn Amulet.

She is sexiest pony.

She could be quite random at times. Why does she have emergency edible boots? And what was she doing inside the Party Cannon during Spike at Your Service?

There should be an episode where Rarity runs her business from the ground up and gaining a monopoly over the entirety of Equestria.
 
I don’t know what the moral would be, but it would be kind of cool to see some questionable business practices.

Theoretically speaking, any unicorn or alicorn could gain from wearing the amulet. The question is more “would it affect ponies without horns?”

She’s awesome.
 
I also notice that she’s unusually strong for a Unicorn. She clearly has training in at least two different fighting styles, and could probably kick the flank of anypony who challenged her… except AJ.
 
I really wonder how she’s able to stay in business. There’s a reason high fashion stays in the big cities, and trying to sell high-end dresses in a tiny backwater like Ponyville is a good way to go broke quickly. Sure, she may get the occasional out-of-town client and mail-order (see Sapphire Shores), but that can’t be enough to sustain her, especially not when she goes to a spa every week and gets The Works.
 
Now I’ve come up with my own answers but that’s headcanon territory and this isn’t the proper thread.
