But then again, Osomatsu-san was an adult counterpart of Osomatsu-kun and it’s just pure comedy.

Honestly, I doubt that a MA show would help MLP sell toys to little girls, and if they did go MA, it would be the cheap MA.

The toys don’t even look like the show most of the time. They just need the name on it,and anything goes.

Again, I fail to see how a show not meant for young girls would help sales of toys to young girls, which is the purpose of MLP.

It probably wouldn’t happen anytime soon,but I don’t see it as a stretch they might make a more adult MLP.  
And if they really cared about the show being a toy commercial,they’d make toys that actually look like the show.

At best you would get a TV-14 MLP show but since the whole point of MLP is pastel colored ponies for young girls, there would be no real reason for it. It would have to be a separate thing to the mainline ponies. Like EqG, if the kotobukiya statues are anything to go by.

I could list off various franchises that have branched off from kids entertainment,but I don’t feel like it.
