After watching Applegeek’s reaction to EG Mirror Magic, I thought of something. First, let me go into an little detail. Spoilers ahead so be warned.
After the release of Equestia Girls 4 the show gave us 7 gems that are basically the human versions of the Elements Of Harmony that grants the Human7 special powers, and are similar in color to the Elements. But wait, 7? There are 6 Elements Of Harmony, we know this as canon because in season 4 we saw Celestia and Luna finding the Tree Of Harmony and only took “6” Elements from it, leaving 6 empty slots for the Mane6 to refill as they in turn return the Elements to the tree.
So, what is this 7Th gem that acts as EG’ 7Th Element? From what we can see it’s tied to Sunset, having chose her in EG4. If Equestria had an 7Th Element why wasn’t there an 7Th empty slot in the tree? Was the tree created after it was lost? When asked by an fan someone on the show’s staff said that if Starlight would have an Element it’d be Forgiveness.
Firstly, it’s likely Starlight is just an complete doppelganger to Sunset as the 2 are really similar and thus if Starlight would have an Element, Sunset would share it as well. Secondly I do not believe Starlight is the Element Of Forgiveness. Why?
Because IT WOULD CAUSE GREAT LEGAL PROBLEMS TO THAT PERSON WHO ANSWERED THE QUESTION! Remember that before EG1 even aired fans were lied to about Sunset, we were lied to our faces because they could not have told us the truth because of their contract. So if this Forgiveness Element is in fact true, whoever gave that as the answer would likely had been fired, and gotten in so much legal trouble we would have heard about it. You just can not reveal something this huge and not be in mega legal problems for it.
However Sunset having that gem does imply there is an 7Th Element Of Harmony, but it was never in the Tree Of Harmony so if it exists it was likely lost ages ago. Now, Applegeek made an few points I’ll touch on. He mentions that on the new book Twilight gave Sunset it had what seemed to be Sunset’s Cutie Mark fused with Starlight’s with an red gem in the center. He also brought up something I’m most of us would had forgotten.
In EG1 Starlight’s magic was green, exactly like her eyes. However in Mirror Magic, which is after EG4, her magic is now red just like her gem. So, did this Elemental Gem changed the color of Sunset’s magic aura? Now we get to the revelation I came to. Throughout the entire show through the TV show and EG, we only have 2 separate occasions where a pony’s magical aura changes colors. Not counting a Royal Problem, of course as that’s an entirely different matter.
In the Ep Inspiration Manifestation Spike gave Rarity an book that not only corrupted her, but changed her magic to be green. Spike later ate said book so now that magic is loose somewhere corrupting who knows what and we may never get to see it..it was canonally stated in the same exact seasont hat magic can not just disappear, it MUST go somewhere.
That wasn’t the first time we had seen this, however. In season 3’s Magic Duel Trixie was corrupted by the Alicorn Amulet that turned her magical aura red. The Alicorn Amulet is an necklace that greats the wearer magical powers that normal ponies could never hope to gain or even use. It also changes her aura to red, sounds familiar? This is almost identical to Sunset’s gem.
And it makes sense! If the 7Th Element got corrupted long ago in the past it would explain why there wasn’t an empty 7Th slot for it on the tree, and it also explains why it was never mentioned. Because it was lost to time and even the 2 royal sisters wouldn’t had known it existed, going with the idea that they had never even seen the Elements prior to finding the tree as we saw in 4.
I also theorized the Crystal Heart was the Element Of Love, but now I propose the theory that the Alicorn Amulet that had corrupted Trixie and is now in the possession of Zecora, is in fact the very same Element that Sunset was given during EG4. It’s very unlikely but, the Alicorn Amulet IS extremely similar the Elements the Mane6 (minus Twi’s which was an crown) had as they wore them as necklaces.
