War…. War changed everything. Hundreds of years ago Equestria went into a full-on biological civil war, with poison bombs, chemical weapons, and all sorts of unspeakable horrors, turning our country into a third world wasteland.
Those who survived the war flocked to strongholds, Safe zones in the middle of the decaying cites known as “The Boneyards”. Outside these strongholds, the magic poison from the bombs so many years ago never fully dissipated, and still roll about as toxic smog. Bandits, thugs, raiders, cults, and mercenaries wander the land, lead by warlords whose only ambitions are to kill for resources.
So the strongholds stay locked, heavily guarded by powerful nobles with units of salvaged Alicorn Sentinel suits warding off attacks and sieges with the help of Remnants, pieces of restored pre-war technology stored in canisters of princesses’ liquefied magic known as Alicorn Lithium. But parts, Remnants and Alicorn Lithium are not only rare but are also only found outside the walls, and the strongholds need them.
Enter the Remnant scavengers. Along with companion droids and rough and tumble ponies brave enough to join them, they form teams of Harvesters. They find whatever you need for a fee. Whether it’s guns, booze, expired meds, bullets, illegal weapons, drugs, or even restored companion robots. They find it, and sell it. But the Remnants are running out, and Alicorn Lithium is being depleted rapidly, making the job all the more dangerous.
So keep your eyes peeled, weapons loaded, and gas masks in place, cause baby it’s hell out there, and all the fortune in the world only lasts so long.
