First and foremost, this thread is about the movie The Thing. You know John Carpenter’s masterpiece? If you don’t know what I’m talking about it’s about this team in Antartica who come across a dog and a few Norwegians trying to kill it, they kill the Norwegians but soon discover that there was a reason for them wanting to kill the dog. The dog isn’t really a dog, but a shapeshifting alien with no real form, how scary is this alien?

Now time for the thread’s story!
Twilight Sparkle and her friends have gone to a research facility in the Frozen North on the orders of Princess Celestia to examine a mysterious object found in the ice…that was one week ago and since then there has been no word from the facility until suddenly a distress beacon is sent out. Celestia is unsure of what has happened but has taken no chances, she has quickly assembled a rescue team to investigate just exactly what has happened and to search for survivors.

Name: Shining Armor
Equipment: Blue coat, G36c with grenade launcher and flashlight, Sig Sauer P226, incendiary grenades, frag grenades, flares, walkie talkie, and some C4 just in case.
Notes: Volunteered almost immediately upon the creation of the team, he’s also the leader of the team and is eager to find his sister and any survivors.
Name: Redheart
Equipment: White coat with medical patch on her arm, medical equipment including gauss and morphine, and one FN Five-Seven for self defense.
Notes: Joined up since they didn’t have anyone with medical knowledge, isn’t a soldier and is still technically a civilian.
Name: Classified, code name “Cypher”
Equipment: Classified
Notes: To oversee what they find at the base.
