They’re not the same thing. Cruise ships are bigger and sell individual rooms to guests. In this case, yachts are private ships that are either owned for personal use or rented out in its entirety. I’m not sure about the usage in Spring Breakdown though, since it seems it may be used interchangeably, and I haven’t actually seen that special.

@Litrojia
Thanks for the explanation.

I looked at Spring Breakdown’s transcript and while the event is called a “cruise,” (exactly once), the ship itself is only referred to as a “most deluxe luxury liner” named “Luxe Deluxe” in a brochure SciTwi reads aloud (also exactly once).

She’s mentioned to have organized the trip herself, and there’s an entire short and song titled I’m on a Yacht, so I think the safe assumption is that it’s a yacht rather than a cruise ship. Maybe the same yacht the Shadowbolts planned to have their spring break dance in Dance Magic.

Back when I started tagging uploads and screencaps relevant to Spring Breakdown, I used yacht simply because of that other episode’s name (even though I still haven’t watched it). I guess I’ll keep doing so and ignore cruise ship then.

Thanks again!
