Should we do everything including ask blog posts or just Art?

Just art would be enough, though if the art comes with description, then adding the descriptions would be better.
 
There are softwares that can archive everything, like TumblrThree or hydrus.

I have the post descriptions and metadata as raw test along the images :)

That would help, though uploading isn’t currently the main issue. The main issue is downloading to our harddrives before tumblr explodes

As a member of theponyarchive we are also on the goal of archiving pony blogs and we must unite.

I’m gonna see about making a python script to archive a target blog’s posts, just gotta get home from work first.

can a admin moderator possibly dump all the source urls that contain tumblr.com? and post the unique set here please?

Can someone arrange them in alphabetical order please?

I’m assuming that we just want pony art right?  
Like if an artist has 100 images and only 10 of them relate to mlp, we just want the 10 right?

I’ll try to help a bit, but I have other things to do. I’ll mostly download stuff and organize it a bit.

My thought is that the only thing we have a limited time on is downloading from tumblr before it gets rid of all nsfw content. So i’m just downloading everything while its available, and saving any uploading or sorting until either its all done, or its all removed by tumblr.

If i’m not mistaken it looks like every artist on the list has been either downloaded, archived, or confirmed “dead”

actually on the “Before 2018” sheet there are still about 400 tumblrs left to archive.

The first file is sorted. The rest are the file split into chunks of 1000 lines each.
