The problem is not politics in movies, art or comics in and of itself, its the shoehorning in and blatant preaching of politics (particularly identity politics) thats the problem. Saying “x is political” is an bone-headed shortsighted statement that doesn’t catch the whole scope of things. The problem is not women being in film, despite what some half-wit baby brains on facebook and twitter think with their nonsense femmie ““mansplaining/maamsplaining””” and ““toxic masculinity”” jargon and all that, its identity politics and the like.

I support writing characters as characters first, and only writing them as male or female later. I have nothing wrong with strong female characters; what I have a problem with are “strong female characters.”
