True.
Yeah, overreactions really suck. As much as I really can’t stand this design, I do realize nothing will change it. I’m more discussing why they’re bad rather than demanding change.
Well obviously, but not everything the staff does have to be a huge overreaction like this.
People need to just suck up that the CMC have the cutie marks and move on with their lives.
Then again, this is a tamed reaction compared to Disneymaster’s, just watch him be all “THIS DIDN’T HAPPEN LIKE TWILACORN! EVERYTHING HAS TO FIT ME!”
It’s worth pointing out that not every decision the writing and design staff makes is a good one.

So for the writers of “Party Pooped”, it was simply a case of ‘Did Not Do The Research’.

It was what the voice actors wanted too, as I recall. In fact there was a convention panel a while back where they expressed the hope that when the CMC received their marks there would be something there indicating their shared bond.
So yeah, I get that people may not be thrilled with the designs, but I think the significance of what they mean and what they stand for more than make up for any minor appearance complaints.

The thing I don’t know if you noticed (it took me a while to see it, at least) is that the three colours are their mane’s colours in the order of Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, then Scootaloo.
Which I think is to represent that their talent(s) involve them all working together to help ponies, not just that their talents are tangentially related.
I like those. They don’t clash with the color schemes and the idea that they got their marks together isn’t beating you over the head.
It’s the type of Cutie Mark I was hoping for, good episode to boot, it’s the same’ishness that feels off (not to mention they warp oddly in the walk cycles). I like the recolors here quite a bit, go better with the tones. Here’s hoping Season 6’s models’ll incorporate the Marks a bit better.

It’s called hyperbole, I wasn’t being serious about killing myself. I can deal with stuff that I can’t change, that’s why I’m still alive. I was having a conversation about something that I dislike that happened in a show that I like.
…as I’ve said elsewhere, this actually did play out an awful lot like Magical Mystery Cure, especially the ending, like the CMC are almost interchangeable with Princess Twilight.
