You CAN’T tank worth a damn in 2.
If you put on havel’s armor against any moderately difficult boss, you’re dead because you can’t effectively evade, and they practically ignore the fact that you’re wearing a chiseled boulder.
Background Pony #336D
But was tank(ing)in DSI not better then in DSII? Before the patch came, you could thank litterally all bosses and sorcerers too.

I exist, probably.
‘Sorcerers have a higher chance of winning’ What, who are you guys playing against?
Most people in the high level brackets are all fast rolling or ninja flipping, you won’t catch them with a spell unless there is either lag or they screw up and eat a spell, meanwhile you have to spend a lot of points to maximize Sorcery’s potential to the point where it can instagib people, which in turn leaves you vulnerable to getting instagibbed by melees aswell.

@Whent
I don’t mind if players kill me as a sorcerer, but I do see it as a problem if players are only going to play as a sorcerer for PVP only just because they are the class that as higher chance of winning in a PVP. Nobody likes that, whether they admit it or not.

Catalysts are magic sticks used exclusively for casting the spells “Pursuers” and “Dark Bead.” Despite high intelligence being a requirement to use them, the actions of their wielders tend to make you think otherwise.
Whent

@Ledvi
Really? Well I guess I can see the need for balancing from a gameplay perspective but there’ll always be something magical (pun intended) about being able to effortlessly kill some guy who’s obviously twice as skilled as you are just because he made the mistake of not playing a sorcerer.
Whent

@RIG
Catalysts are the wands sorcerer’s use to channel their magic. Sorcerers in Dark Souls, at least in the original Dark Souls (I never played the sequel), are absurdly overpowered.
Ledvi

@RIG
Well it depends on which game because each Dark Souls game have a different story with little to no connection with the previous. But I’ll try to explain.

Darkness is coming to devour the entire world and you, as the Chosen Undead, who is incapable of dying, must choose a path to whether you light the bonfire to slow down the inevitable, or let the darkness come.

There’s so much to talk about the franchise, but I think it’s for the best if you experience it through yourself. You’ll find a lot of lores through weapons, items, and NPCs while you’re playing through the game.
