Here.
Yeah. They could gone with making spitfire awkward with the situation and make her look like a somewhat compentent captain.
The writers misses opportunity to further develop the wonderbolts all the time, been waiting for a Rainbow episode hanging out with Spitfire and Fleetfoot for ages.
The writer missdd an opportunity of giving Spitfire character developmen like her IDW counterpart.
I was just putting some things right, but ok.
That’s my guess as well. 4 years tops.
I just remember Dash telling Scoots that she was younger and still come out in first place. Maybe a year or two.
Yeah maybe a few years older, but the age gap shouldn’t be that big.

Older actually,
This is why we can’t have a proper conversation. You keep nitpicking when everyone else’s trying to have a nice discussion about this episode alone. Nobody even claims if Spitfire is an experienced captain, and for all we know she’s about as old as RD & Dust in Parental Glideance.

@genervt
She does not even try once to talk with Sky Stinger, instead she lashes out against Rainbow as if it was somehow her fault.
She is a failure as a captain.
I was talking about Sky and Vapor about friendship stuff.
Spitfire did nothing wrong at Top Bolt.
I was not talking about friendship, I was talking about the proper traing and guidance that was denied to Lightning.
Wasting such a talent like this is a crime.
It was not Rainbows fault that there was a problem, the problem between Sky Stinger and Vapor Trail already existed for a long time.
And as I already said Spitfire wasn´t doing her job at all.
Spitfire ‘s job is not to fix their friendships with each, especially when they’re just cadets, they’re just regular cadets like Lightning Dust.
And it wasn’t her fault that Sky and Vapor got an argument, it was Rainbow Dash’s. Spitfire was just doing her job in the correct way.
I expect more from an “experienced” captain than from a new misguided cadet who has yet to be trained.
Then they should train their most talented cadets properly instead of kicking them out at their first offence.
Letting her finally rejoin and giving her the the guidance and training she needs will do that.
That was Spitfires job in the first place.
Wonderbolt Academy.
Liking Dusty does not make me wrong.

Look m8, I’m not even trying to start an argument. I’m simply pointing out the fact that both Spitfire and Lightning could use more logic. Things doesn’t look fair on Lightning’s side but the wonderbolts’ got an image to maintain just like any organizations do. Bashing Spitfire can’t get you your precious LD back.
And where do you even see Spitfire encouraging cadet’s bad behavior before kicking them out? If your comments are of any help it’s to prove that your a Dust lover through and through. Doesn’t get you anywhere beyond that.
No
She is supposed to train her cadets properly, not to kick talented fliers out at the very first opportunity (especially after encouraging their behaviour all the time before instead of correcting it early).
Lightning did not deserve that excessive and cruel punishment, a demotion to wingpony and some additional training would have been more than enough.
I suggest you read my comments.
And Spitfire proved her incompetence once again in Top Bolt.

I’ve yet to watch the episode, but Spitfire rocking the whole gym sounds pretty dope. Lemme watch it rn and fill in all the tidbits.
@genervt
That’s what a drill seargent’s supposed to do. She might come across as harsh or uncaring but she’s right about Lightning being selfish and want nothing but the best for herself. Both parties are at fault, not that Lightning doesn’t deserve that punishment. She could still try out next year when opportunity comes. Plus, Spitfire apologized in Rainbow Fall and admitted that she learnt a thing or two from Dash. If that’s not steady progress then I don’t know what is.
Instead of realizing what the problem with her cadets is or at least trying to find out she immediately blames the innocent Rainbow and orders her to do her job.
All what Spitfire does is yell at her trainees and kick them out when something goes wrong.
Lightning Dust, Rainbow Dash, Soarin, Vapor Trail and Sky Stinger deserve a better captain.
What did she do in Top Bolt exactly?
She simply put all the blame on Lightning, humiliated her in front of the whole academy and kicked her out for something that was only partially her fault and that she could not have foreseen instead of doing her job and train her properly.
That is not progress, that is pathetic and cruel.
And it is not the only example of her incompetence.
I won´t forget Rainbow Falls and Top Bolt.
