And I forgot to add, there’s a decently strong amount of TwiJack shippers on FIMfiction, 2 of the shippers with the most influence there endorsed it and wrote some fic for it and that made it grow quite a bit. (incidentially those 2 are part of the reason Rarijack has had trouble there since they hate it).

Well AppleDash is still bigger than Rarijack in the fic world, since those people feed off fic more than the show itself and it got really big years earlier so it has a lot more.

Shipping Applejack is incredibly easy because the character was created without any notable flaws; e.g., Mario, Ryu, Superman, Anthropomorphic Vanilla Ice Cream, et cetera. XD

That’s the thing about that one fic: Twidash is mostly fan created. And I hate that.
 
But anyway I enjoy Rarijack in general. I just wish other AJ ships will have a chance at fresh air.

Well TwiDash basically exploded over one really popular fic(the single most viewed Mane 6 fic there is actually) and how insanely popular both characters were at the time. There you go. It was based off largely nothing. it’s true so I never really warmed up to it.
 
Rarijack is different in that it’s fanbase is in fact built more off the show than off fan fiction, where it’s actually not that strong since most of the writers over on FIMfiction got onboard the AppleDash train( a ship which actually also got popular off the show rather than off fan stuff, S1 in specific even if it’s basically a dead dynamic afterward) before the Rarijack train really started taking off elsewhere.

I see what you’re saying about preexisting Rarijack fuel, but remember that Twidash had nonthing the first THREE seasons yet it still grew at a rate that it was practical shoved down people’s throats so on air moments doesn’t seem to be a rule.
 
Plus Rarity and Dash were given time in season 1 with The Sonic Rainboom being their intro pairing episode. And after what Rarity and Dash did for the other in it, I was surprised nothing came out of it with fans like with Fall Weather friends, Look Before You Sleep, or even Green Isn’t You Color. As for pairings with Applejack, Twilight had most of the good moments with her in season 1, Pinkie in season 5 outside of Made In Manhattan yet people don’t take as much note. Have everyone just made up their mind?
 
In general all this can be a bit confusing since it’s like screen time has little impact on the interest people take on Rarijack and Raridash.

RariDash was brought forth by the second episode out of the three that aired this September called the Month of Rarity, Rarity Investigates. The other two inspired art and one-shots of Rarity doing Sassy Saddles and Applejack, and Coco Pommel, too, I guess. X3

Yeah Rarijack is a different beast than most other ships in that it’s actually fed primarily by the show and not by fan fiction. The other 2 that I guess can say the same are Sparity and Flutterdash. AppleDash could once upon a time but lets face it, those 2 have barely spoken since S1.
 
I have no idea why Raridash was brought up though. Usually I would think of AppleDash as the primary ship rival to RariJack as that tends to be perceived as an opposites attract vs similar personality ship thing. RariDash is at it’s core just ANOTHER Opposites attract but when you look at it more they aren’t really that opposite thing like Rarijack is.

Well, for Rarity Investigates that was just one of the most memorable episode moments. Sex appeal, or as close to you can get to it with this show is almost always guaranteed to be one of the most appealing factors for a lot of people in this fandom.
 
The reason why the MIM Rarijack moments were more memorable than RI Raridash to most people was because it was yet more fuel added to all of the preexisting Rarijack teases out there, which there have been a lot of over the seasons… their pairing and interaction’s been the focus point in usually one ep per season plus all of the other shipteases in other eps. Whereas with Raridash, RI was one of the first times they’ve ever even interacted with more than a passing line of dialogue, let alone been cutesy together.
 
Tl;dr, Rarijacks been a thing for a good while already. Whereas not enough Raridash for many to have much/any interest.
