“That doesn’t look anything like Jolts! That’s not a Gauss Rifle, that’s a bunch of random scrap someone welded together. Bet you can’t even snipe with the thing.”
4 is only going to have 2 mayor DLCs, or rather, two proper DLC, not paid updates, Far Harbor and Nuka World, which I would compare to the two previous Fallout’s DLC, but we would be here all week.
Honestly, I feel like NV is the better game, but I finished 3 two times and NV only once (Even though I made three characters), so go figure.
Oh yeah, changing the Vindicator without even touching the description irked me quite a bit back then.
“Those aren’t caseless rounds! It clearly has five barrels, not six! Gah!” :P
I need to get around to playing NV one of these days, maybe even finish 3…4 will have to wait until all of it is out (and on sale :P).
I actually mixed up the gauss assault rifle mod I had in NV with the Tactics MEC Minigun.
The gun I’m actually missing is the Vindicator, it shows up once in 2, then in Tactics where it doesn’t even look like the original version.
Well, that’s true, in that it only has the coils and no proper barrel – making the “rifle” part of the name a blatant lie… ;)
I have to disagree on it looking more like a gun, though; it looks like a hobbyist project (or an early prototype) rather than a proper piece of military hardware to me. Definitely not a pre-apocalypse production model like the M72 or the FO3/NV versions.
I’m not aware of any Gauss assault rifles, though. Is that from a mod, or did you mean the Gauss minigun from Tactics?
My point was the F4 one looks more like a gun than a tube with a bunch of rings around it.
Although I do miss the Gauss Assault Rifle.
@ReadingReader
You can’t send them flying on a critical anymore, though.
Edited
but they didnt have the satisfaction of hitting a target with a fully charge shot
Dude, Fallout gauss rifles have always – except the FO3 beta version that used the laser rifle model – visibly had coils:
@Poptard
It looks like someone built it in their garage.
Kind of like the real-world examples you posted, but rusty.
Just looks more realistic compared to the raygun gothic version from Fallout 3, despite the inverse being true for most weapons in Fallout 4. It has the sequential magnets, the wiring, the shielding, and the capacitor visible, with some additional shielding optional, all in one bulky rectangle with a pistol grip on one end. I mean, here are some real-life versions:
And wow, once I got The Last Minute from completing the Minutemen storyline, I found my new favorite gun.
MF CHARGESHOT RAILGUN
I heard this one courier repaired an anti-material rifle with a bb gun, and fixed a proton axe using a pool cue.
