You can find people like that in nearly every fanbase, like Mr. Elitist down below, who thinks comparing totally different bands is a valid reason for one to suck, apples and oranges as they say.
 
I’m a metal head, have been for many years, I used to be like that, but once I left my teen years so did I that pretentious side.
 
I like Baby Metal myself, it’s fun, heavy and a little cheesy, for what it is it could’ve been worse but it has established metal musicians behind it, they’re not just some randoms plucked off the street, they’re all qualified in their respective roles.

The worst thing about metal, and the reason I generally stay away from it, is metal “fans”. Every single one I’ve ever talked to or read anything from has been unbearably snobbish. Folks may be right about Babymetal’s (lack of) merits, but the I-know-more-than-you tone I often see is the reason so many people hate metal. It’s just like traditional comic book stores before the crash whose owners and patrons scoffed at any casuals who wandered in because they weren’t up on the 20+ years of lore and continuity.
