the more i think on it, the more I like the idea of the show going into “harem” territory with Spike as the witless bachelor.

Remember, Spike. The Rarity you know would never say something so awful. Why if she was there, she’s probably smack her Nightmare timeline counterpart, exclaiming, “No one says that to my Spikey-Wikey!”

Kinda cute how this moment proved how much Rarity is fond of Spike in the real timeline.  
Just like Numbuh 3 from Codename: KND in the episode P.O.O.L.: her negative counterpart, who was the exact opposite of Numbuh 3, said “I don’t like you!” to Numbuh 4… implying the other Numbuh 3 actually liked him XD

I don’t really think Rarity saying she didn’t want to be with him was as horrible as her saying that any pony would not want to be around him, no doubt stirring up some pretty horrible thoughts that he is really alone in the pony community. That’s pretty evil, thankfully though he seemingly recovers quickly. Wish there was an episode dealing with that sort of subject. Oh and more Spikelove, like we seriously need some Momlestia with him XD

I sort of see Rarity’s affections towards him as being a kindness anyway. Like she knows there won’t ever be anything real between them (especially since he’s a baby dragon) but she doesn’t outright push him away because he’s a friend, which is why she still crushes after adult stallions.

This is the face of Spike with his soul having been shattered. This is the face of having just been brutally slain by Rarity. I do not believe there has been a face of Spike with him trying NOT to cry quite this hard.
