Indeed. I honestly like Human Twi a lot more then normal Twilight. Not only does she look cooler and act more natural and less milquetoast, without that chip on her shoulder of being Celestia’s student, Human Twi gets to be the character/person, Twilight Sparkle, without a corporate agenda up her or Celestia’s ass.
 
And her inclusion did not predicate her being the leader in any shape or form, she was just the Twilight Sparkle of the group. :)
 
I mean, did any of us ever think we’d see the day where we’d see a Twilight Sparkle who pursued her own interests and personal interests in friendship? I sure didn’t.
 
But I think that ship has long since sailed with our in-show protagonist, pony Twilight. But hey, who knows, maybe Season 6 will remove the stick up her ass.

And I’m glad someone else shares that same thinking. I wanted the EQG series to be centered on Sunset Shimmer. Twi’s inclusion felt unnecessary and forced.

Well, at least to me, it’s gotten old. And the Twilight in Friendship Games was even worse than her Equestrian counterpart, being portrayed as a complete doormat that would make Shy look like a tough girl.

Twilight is to MLP what Optimus is to Transformers: it could work without them, but including them is generally a surer way to appeal to more people and drive merch.

On another note, I can hear His Theme (Undertale) playing in the background of this scene.

I never really understood the need to bring Twilight into Friendship Games in any shape or form. The movie would have been awesome WITH or WITHOUT her. Take some risks with the show Hasbro!
