It’s been over a year since I posted that comment, I’m well aware of the ballistic weave and what it can be applied to, I even have mods that let me add it to other types of apparel as well. I don’t use any vanilla weapons or apparel anymore.

Actually, if you have the worn military fatigues or something like that, it’s a piece of clothing that you can put armored weave into and wear underneath other pieces of armor. Also, if you have a Trilby hat, you can make it armored as well.

I can see that, I have started to take a liking to it a bit more and I got mods that adds actual assault rifles like the AK-47 so it makes a good backup when I need to do more damage.

i’ve always seen the ‘assault rifle’ as a man portable maxim gun given its overall appearance

Oh auto combat rifle for me is Beast cause if have commando and its a two shot with best upgrades.

I forgot to say I got the fiber weave and it does well in terms of protection but I don’t really like any of the stuff you can put it on besides the greaser jacket but you can’t wear armor over that.
 
So I’ve gone back to the Vault suit and I have found my armor choice, the overseers armguards, sturdy freefall legs and a sturdy combat chest piece with all the pieces shadowed it looks really good and I take no fall damage from any height.

Yes it’s a browning machine gun you know those ones that had the water coolant system and took at least 3 men to use the main character must be a super hero to be packing this thing around like it’s nothing and I’m really disappointed that the Tommy gun is the only other rapid fire ballistic rifle in the game (the combat rifle is better as a semi-automatic so I don’t count it) I want a real assault rifle something that’s not massive and bulky, the worst part is the icon for the “assault rifle” in your hot keyed weapons is an AK-47 it’s like it’s taunting you.

I don’t know but it chews threw ammo it’s crazy and gods help you if they step a pixel to the side and you miss all those cells gone to the wind.

I can forgive that a hand-crank may not generate enough of a charge for a laser of that strength, but why does a crank-powered laser musket eat up my fusion cells?

Agreed the suppressor for it just looks weird I personally think the pipe rifle itself looks bad as well but it at least looks better without that suppressor.
 
I also find it weird you can put a suppressor on the shotgun in that game I mean what? That’s not even possible I get Fallout isn’t the most realistic but I think someone’s been watching a little too much No Country for Old Men if you ask me.

I have no problem with the weapon. I just never fit a suppressor because it looks like a fucking soup can.

I wore my armored vault suit all through fallout 3 but that’s not really hard to do since you could basically become a god in that game.
 
I was wearing the vault suit for awhile about 20 hours into the game but I lost interest in it the tightness of it made it clash with a lot of other things I’m currently wearing Kellog’s outfit.

Once you get the first DIA cache for PAM, you unlock it, though it’s sort of stealthy because it doesn’t tell you that. If you’re in need of Ballistic Fiber for the mods, you can find them in Goodneighbor, sold by Kleo.
 
I like the traditional Vault Jumpsuit myself. Maybe I’m weird for it, but one of my major problems with Fallout 3 was how quickly the Armored Vault Suit became an impractical choice for armor.

Though annoyingly I got those free fall combat armor legs which makes you take no damage from falling but I can’t wear my athletic clothes underneath them which sucks I like the way the athletic clothes look.

Agree’d. If you don’t mind doing work with the Railroad, you can get Ballistic Weave for outfits though. With every rank in Armorer, you can make a flannel shirt with 110 energy and ballistic resistance!

I wish there were more options for under armor in this game I can’t wear my combat armor over anything I like.
