Emerald takes a wide berth around both the ponies and Hope. Keeping an eye on the potential enemies as he does.
 
The two ponies following Hope seem to just be watching her, and they do it quite diligently. There isn’t a time that Emerald glances over to them that at least one of them isn’t staring in her direction.
 
It takes a second for Emerald to see Hope in the moonlight. She is just lying on the side of the road, and she appears to be shivering. It isn’t until he gets closer that Emerald realizes that she is crying. The sound breaks his heart, but he can’t think of what to do. After a few minutes Hope stands up and starts walking back the way she came.
