Don’t know about nordic elves, but in Ukrainian mythology this creature called “mа́vka”. Mavka is a soul of a girl who had died in her youth. She look like beautiful, tall girl with long hair, but she don’t have skin on her back, so you can see her innards. Mavka can turn into young man’s beloved and drain his love till he die. But mosly they are good creatures, and you must really offend her to make her this mad.
