I think it’s a good look for the character. Kylo isn’t another Darth Vader; he’s young and passionate and constantly flipping out whenever he loses. He’s like a typical angsty teenager if given magic space powers, a laser sword, and command of an evil army.
|| I think it’s meant to be Darth Plaugeis The Wise. Their music sounds suspiciously similar, he’s got the wounds on his face that look like both lightning and a lightsaber. I bet when Sidious thought he killed him, he just use the powers on himself. Being the dark side, of course, it scarred him for life in the process. He then waited it out for over 60 years (End of Prequels, all throughout Originals and the beginning of Sequels) to get his revenge on the galaxy ||
