The only library i know in the city is inside the local university. which is at a 45 minutes away if i go by foot. essentially, i’m too lazy to walk all the way there just for that.

There’s only so much physical texts i can read, or afford to buy. i only have about 15 books and i have already read all of them but one. but i love to read. the thing that occupies most of my time in the computer, besides using Derpibooru or doing assistant things is reading things around the internet. especially Wikipedia.

Plus, ponies are freaking adorable. Maybe if you lived with them 24/7 you might stop seeing it or something, but as it stands, they’re adorable.
 
And not a reason it’d be better but a reason people think that way is that the grass is always greener on the other side.
 
Romanticizing something unattainable is pretty common. It allows you to feel good about a fantasy that can never be turned into a disappointment by actualization.
 
I think a lot of people who want Equestria would die pretty quickly from no internet, and I’m not sure whether or not they even have air conditioning. Thank goodness for running water being canonized, though xP (Feeling Pinkie Keen, the bath. And Baby Cakes, same bath again with pressurized faucet)

Fictional characters tend to have a purpose in the narrative. Real people generally have to fake it.

Plus, many stories happen because of an antagonist, so we have a bias towards them. Example, near the end of “Bridle Gossip,” Twilight approaches a door, and says, “Daisy, we need to talk…” implying that that’s a character she knows but we never saw any of. Add to that all the dozens of ponies Pinkie knows…
 
Point is, it’s a small minority compared to the whole list of ponies, and it has a bias in its favor, so, yeh.
