Yes. I think the issue here was I was trying to make an Asian Twilight. Because in my headcanon, she’s as Asian as a small horse can be. And as you know, Asians have flatter faces with less deep shadows by which to show form/anatomy, and in my limited ability, trying to portray that made it come out with a porcelain doll kind of look. Personally, I still think she’s pretty cute, but obviously I just have shit taste, because so many others don’t. I guess I’ll get it eventually. I’m doing face studies now.

it’s an improvement, but it’s still not quite right. I’ve seen your other work and you tend to be pretty good with facial structure, it’s just this particular picture you seem to be struggling with. Do you use an x/y plane when modeling the head?

it’s so bizarre how some people are affected by creepily unrealistic proportions while others aren’t even phased in the slightest. I literally cannot get over the fact her forehead is bigger than her whole face. It ruins the whole picture. It’s not a problem with her eyes, it’s the eyes’ placement. She has the face of an infant.
