I wrote the ascent AI in the window with Kerbal OS. Pretty darn proud of it - it works pretty well. Not a super optimized trajectory, but it is really efficient! (Efficient enough for Mercury-Atlas, Gemini-Titan, and had to modify it, though, for the Saturn-1B because of the super duper low T/W ratio of the second stage (S-IVB)) :D

Typically KSP has a pretty high mortality rate… But in the hands of a careful and diligent engineer, it can actually be surprisingly safe. Especially when you’ve got a good’ol launch escape system…
