Truth be told, my biggest problem with this pic is that, for someone supposed to be so immensely powerful, he doesn’t look all that intimidating, just like an abnormally red horse with wings and a horn. Have some firey streaks in his hair! Black iron horseshoes, glowing eyes, magical aura to show he can make powerful artifacts! And a Cutie Mark, at least! XD

Neat. As for the design of this fellow, could use more work, maybe with complementary colors in the color spectrum and accessories, but still, not TOO bad.

“This is my OC Morning Glory, although his real name translates into something a bit more ominous. Formed with the other Alicorns at the dawn of the 4th Age, he was chief among them in the arts of the manifestation of dreams, coupled with a natural talent for speechcraft and persuasion.
 
Capable of granting wishes and ensnaring hearts, Morning Glory rose in the ranks of Alicorn society, currying the favor of the most powerful alicorns and magical creatures, including the only son of the royal family, Prince Terros. Terros, a proud alicorn, was one of the few of his kind that did not welcome the existence of other non-alicorn ponies, or the constant showering of niceties and gifts on these “lesser” ponies from the Princesses Luna and Celestia. Recognizing this anger, coupled with frustration at being passed over for the throne, Morning Glory convinced Terros to gather his personal guard and stage a revolution, to return Alicorns to their former glory.
 
However, Morning Glory had his own plans, for as the revolution and combat for the throne raged, he began gathering his own forces from the depths of Equestria, and collected arcane lore from across the land, slowly rebuilding the knowledge that had been lost when the Tall-Walkers had left this world for parts unknown by Collecting favors from all of the nobles of Equestria. And as the rebellion came to a head in the Final Days of the First Canterlot, Morning Glory was prepared to access the finally unguarded Forbidden Library, accessible only to Celestia and Luna, to recover the Elements of Harmony they had sealed away. But as he did so, the Elements were activated to seal Terros, and as such he was sealed with the Earth prince, into the depths.
 
But for one such as Morning Glory, all plans have contingencies, and all schemes require patience. His armies sleep, awaiting his return, to swallow the land in darkness to scorn the beauty that was taken away. For tis better to rule in shadow than to serve in the light.”
