Either alicorns don’t need sleep because magic, or raising the moon and sun doesn’t take that long and only requires a kick of sorts so she can boot it across the sky and ignore it for the rest of the day/night, OR the sun and moon actually do move on their own and Celestia is lying to everyone. Personally, I go with option 2 and a little bit of option 1.

Yeah, Celly’s gotta be overworked as fuck. Raises the Sun (And the Moon while Luna was away), runs a magic school, and has to look after a whole kingdom in a setting full of dragons, hydras, and other mythological monsters. She needs a break.

Oh well. Maybe she doesn’t have a lot of stamina? Not sleeping for a thousand years and having to control the heavens in their entirety has to be exhausting.
