Apparently those don’t exist anymore… I went into subway recently and asked for a $5 foot-long and they just stared at me like I was stupid… WTH SUBWAY?

Well, it depends on what you consider “weird”. but it’s not supposed to be 100% accurate, it’s to point out that the weirdest weirdos in a fandom aren’t specific to the fandom, those weirdos exist outside of it too.
That Venn diagram is misleading. “People without weird fetishes/opinions” is a null set.
This(or any) kind of content isn’t specific to the fandom, it’s the cause of humans in general.
