Get out
Maybe not
I think both
I’m pretty sure Stygian would agree with that interpretation.
@Prometheushunter2
If that’s what hell is like, I need to sin more.
I even doubt that they can even touch him.
Edited
So, to hell
He could send them all to EQG-land and be done with them.
DW: Don’t be so hard on yourself, Star Swirl. C’mon, lemme buy you a milkshake.
cue the song
At least I got a snazzy cape…
Sorry, Lawful, she’s still pointin’ at him like a jerk. I think that expression of disdain is aimed at him, not at the situation.
That’s why she doesn’t look too happy to be joining in.
There’s no way in hell that alicornhood would be restricted by gender. It’s a position gifted by merit and being a good leader, and that’s something where gender is completely irrelevant. To suggest otherwise would destroy the alicorns legitimacy, because there’s just no justification for it and there’s certainly not going to be any sort of tangible barrier.
It was pretty clearly stated by Celestia that Starswirl “didn’t understand friendship”, and that’s ultimately where he fell short, I suppose. I’m sure he would have been an alicorn if he had of understood it. It was kind of a big part of Twilight’s ascension, after all, her magical talent wasn’t even the big thing, it was learning friendship and bonds and other nice things, while also learning how to be benevolent leader.
@animefan14
Oh please, cut the nonsense, there’s no evidence whatsoever of Equestria being a matriarchal OR patriarchal society, and in fact everything points towards it being gender-egalitarian. We’ve seen no indication whatsoever that either gender is advantaged or dominant, both genders have been portrayed as equally capable, there’s no ‘enforced’ gender roles to speak of, and we’ve seen ponies of both genders in all sorts of positions, and yes, that includes business and shop owners, celebrities, politicians, and just normal careers. It’s pretty clear that Equestria has gender-equality, both de-jure and de-facto.
At most, you could argue that, in a sort of technicality, you can refer to the top of their government as a matriarchy solely because the current alicorns are female, however this isn’t any different than calling the UK government a matriarchy because it has a queen, which is to say it’s an insignificant and nearly meaningless definition of the word that only points out the genitals of the head(s) of state currently in power.
The only reason Shining Armor isn’t an alicorn is because he married into the title and is a prince consort (Blueblood presumably inherited, and some people consider him to be a possible candidate for a Princess Platinum descendant), and as I mentioned above in this post, Starswirl “didn’t understand friendship”. Maybe later he’ll earn his wings, though it’s debatable if the show itself would do that due to the amount of screentime it would require giving to a character that usually doesn’t receive such a high amount of focus. The show is pretty heavily centered around focusing on it’s strong main characters (Mane 7, CMC mostly), and most other characters only get cameos and minor roles.
Anyway, MLP is a show with a target demographic that makes the writers give more screentime to female characters on average, but it no way has it ever portrayed them as superior, dominant, or any of that nonsense.
I apologize for the tone, but I’ve been arguing with people about this for too long, and quite frankly the calls of “muh matriarchy” is just nonsense. It’s really quite clear, that from everything we’ve seen, Equestria is gender-egalitarian with a considerably greater level of gender equality than even say, the united states.
