“Seriously though, I think this movie doesn’t know what it wants to be.

At times it seems to go for a dark tone, with lots of atmosphere, fairly good character moments, and a rather twisted scheme from the main antagonists. But at other times it gets really silly, with a lot of slapstick, awkward humor, and acting that belongs to a school play. It’s this tonal disparity that makes this movie so unbalanced, and just not fun to watch.

I think I kind of understand they were going for a more colorful, comedic comic book movie, but Batman deserves better and the filmmakers should know this. If you are in dire need of some caped crusader shenanigans, give this one a watch. I personally don’t care.

And now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to start practicing my riddles. This lovely fellow sure has a few of them, and quite good ones too!”

Not true. While Jim Carrey did an okay job as the Riddler, it is Frank Gorshin who is the True Riddler. Gorshin pretty much nailed it as the Riddler. He got him down perfectly from the costumes to the acting to the crazy laughter. He even looks good as the Riddler, much better than Jim Carrey ever did.

Many Batman fans agree that Gorshin is the Riddler Prime. No other actor since then have ever manged to top Gorshin’s Riddler. Sorry, Jim Carry, you may be good but Frank Gorshin is better.

Also find splice bit the fact that Michael Keaton and Tommy Lee felt the same way more or loss, and why the former jumped ship and the latter have such a goofy apathetic performance and didn’t get along with the director at all

I actually find Batman Forever to be a significantly worse movie than Batman and Robin. Batman and Robin at least deliberately set out to be a more comedic outing that got a fair few laughs out of me simoly becaus of the sheer insanity of the whole thing, and yet still had a surprising amount of tragedy with Mr. Freeze. When he wasn’t making a complete ice out of himself Schwarzaneggar actually brought a surprising amount of gravity to the role. Batman Forever PRETENDED to be a more serious movie when Jim Carrey just made a spectacle of himself and Tommy Lee Jones turned one of the most tragic villains in Batman’s Rogues Gallery into a hired gun. Batman and Robin was at least SOMEWHAT interesting in that respect; Forever was just a total trainwreck.
