I think the biggest problem with it is the fact that since it’s just a mediocre “modern” remake, it’s going to ruin the only chance the franchise has at a proper sequel in the future.
 
I will watch it once it airs on network TV and there’s nothing better on.

I dont think the movie is going to be a masterpice at all,quite the contrary all sign point on it being a cookie cutter blockbuster.That being said,the backlash is definitely disproportionated,the only reason people still talk about the trailer is because of the current “feminist vs anti feminist/culture war/you name it” hysteria that is plaguing entertainment nowadays so each side use the movie to stick it to the other side  
You can totally argue on how gender swapping bring anything new to the franchise or in the contrary that it’s just marketing gimmick, just dont use it for your political agenda,no matter if it’s “WOMYN ARE UNDERREPRESENTED IN MEDIA GURL POWER” or “SJW PANDERING RUINING OUR CHILDHOOD CULTURAL MARXISM”.No sides is suddenly going to have the upper hands if Ghostbusters 3 succeed (or bomb) at the box office.Go watch the movie if you want,rent it/netflix/stream it if you think it doesnt worth the prize of a theater ticket.Or ignore it altogether  
As for myself,i’ll stream it when it’s available and will or will not have a good time watching the movie

I didn’t like or hate the trailer, but I was intrigued enough by it that I do wanna see the movie. My main fear had been that they would try to use the original cast, with one member dead, and Murray clearly not wanting to be involved… Instead they went with a new cast in a sequel, which I think was the best option. I’m not saying I expect the movie to be good. I just don’t see much evidence that it will be awful.
