They use stock vectors of damn near every single Gen for advertising G4, so I don’t see anything to surprise me here.

It’s possible that they used a G1 pone in the G2 logo - I know recently they’ve been using the G2 logo on G1 DVDs, so it would add somewhat of a nice circularity to everything… xD
Now I feel young.

Probably some other people here were born in the 1970s too.
There was no Sweetheart in G2. I can’t find any G2 pony in those colors (at least not in the first year, where you’d expect the logo pony to be). Closest I could find was Light Heart http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/File:Light-heart-canopy.jpg
