Check the tags. It’s been edited to hell and back.
FF40 was actually alright.
The way I’m seeing it from the pages/panels I’ve, too much of the nonsense this one is getting is because people are too clouded by “Hate IDW” and “Demonize Celestia” bullshit.
What alternate interpretation? Are you going to pull the SHE CAN SEE THE FUTURE card?
If Anderson wanted to show that raising Spike was a joint effort, he should have written a different story in the first place that didnt have this dumb conflict in it.
lmfao wow you’re really desperate aren’t you?
Or, hey, let’s grant your assumption that anyone could have rescued them. Then, yes, everyone in that episode but Rainbow Dash is a coward or a cad. Yow, “Sonic Rainboom” is a textbook example of terrible writing.
Also, nice bit of question-begging, stating offhand that Celestia’s actions were malicious. Not even room for any alternate interpretations. But I guess only idiot kids would try to come up with some other explanation, eh?
I’m guessing you’ve forgotten some of the particulars of that episode. Starting with the fact that three Wonderbolts did dive after Rarity to save her. By the time she had knocked them unconscious, the only way for them to be rescued is by someone flying fast enough to cause the titular phenomenon, or by someone able to teleport great distances to a location high in the air.
There’s a difference between a failure to act and a malicious act. How many people moved to do something about that? Oh right, one: Rainbow Dash. I guess every single person in Cloudsdale was a psychopath except her?
Your example is flawed.
And “Sonic Rainboom” makes Celestia look like she doesn’t care about four ponies falling to their deaths.
And there we have the IDW
haters’critics’ attitude in a nutshell.Don’t use an unreliable narrator unless you can pull it off well.
Which isn’t what op is complaining about in this
Except we never never shown, or even told Celestia actually helped. The evidence we got shows that Twilight was the only one taking care of Spike even though all that hell.
Anderson doesn’t get a pass because of the 20 page limit. He’s been doing these comics for a while, he should known what kind of story to make. Point is he flat out failed at making it look like a lesson in responsiblity, and just makes it look like Celestia fucking over some random filly’s life before she’s even 12.
You know what that’s called?
A cop-out
Did it occur to you that we see events from Twilight’s po: that is not how things actually were, but how she experienced them? That Celestia did actually help, and Twilight wasn’t with him 24/7 but for Twilight it felt like that? Anderson explains this on his blog anyway. They had 20-pages to tell the story, so the author must count on readers to show some ability to understand each dialogue and scene, something you clearly failed.
That’s seriously hilarious.
We get it, the comics is filled with problems…
But this picture is just nitpicking on the most idiotic way. THIS is not one of the problems of the comic. Bring up some legit criticism next time, OP.
I miss anything?
Oh there’s plenty wrong.
it does OP’s just nitpicking because he can’t find anything wrong with this comic
