She take my money when I’m in needYea she’s a trifling friend indeed
Oh she’s a gold digger way over town
That digs on me
…but she ain’t messing with no broke zebras.

Don’t know, don’t care.
No worries.
Who? People who complain of IDW? X3
That’s why they’re stopping.
End Topic.
Yeah, this, a thousand times this. Andy’s stuff is parodying a major character trait of hers, and I’m sorry, but Rarity does flirt with guys, regularly, just to get stuff or to get them to do stuff on her behalf, and she’s done it from season one. I’m honestly surprised to see people getting so uptight over parodic Flanderizations in a comic book, the one medium where such gags are literally everywhere.
Both Spike and Applejack, I believe. In a supporting role, both are given more fan praise somehow. :T
Was I talking about the comics or the show? The answer is yes. They do the same with Pinkie… And Rainbow Dash… And Applejack. The writers just can’t seem to juggle that many personalities without dropping a few.
Spike seems to have this problem in reverse.
Good for you.

Right. Rarity has never used her good looks to get favors or had moments of shallowness, especially when it comes to men. I’ll remember that next time I see her using her seducing a bunch of stallions to pull her carriage, gold-digging on Blueblood, flirting with Spike to get his rare gem, her human counterpart seducing the human diamond dogs to carry her grand piano (while she sits on top of it), and throwing all sense of dignity and refinement out to become an offensive hick stereotype to get the attention of Trenderhoof.
I don’t know why I remember these instances when they apparently didn’t happen.
None, now be nice.
Well geez man, be more clear instead of spouting hyperbole.
Who does she hit on in Return of Queen Chrysalis?
Who does she hit on in Zen and the Art of Gazebo Repair?
Who does she hit on in Neigh Anything?
Who does she hit on in Reflections?ANS: No one.Who does she hit on in The Good Bad Ponies?ANS: The Sheriff! Genuine flirting here!Who does she hit on in Root of the Problem?ANS: Blackthorn! Sorta.Who does she hit on in Siege of the Crystal Empire? (Not Cook, but some of you are blaming Price for Rarity’s characterization, so why not include it?)
You know what, never mind. The rest of these are easy, she doesn’t make any advances on new males in any of the ones I haven’t already crossed out. So really it’s just The Sherif (total of three flirty lines) and Blackthorn (one comment to Pinkie, and one sorta flirty line). Every single arc my ass.
Not all of those are Katie Cook stories.
Also holy crap, seeing all of the arcs laid out makes me realize how many bad ones IDW has given us. Maybe two or three of those are acceptable stories.
Really, every single one? Here, help me complete the list and we shall see:

Wow, how many checks are you cashing?
Rarity is known for using her wiles and charms to get what she wants.
She pulls it on Hayseed Turnip Truck, the delivery guy from when we first meet Sassy Saddles, and probably a few others that I’m not remembering.
In her defense though, she doesn’t use it to put someone in harms way, or to swindle someone out of their money or some such. I.E. she’s not a con-artist, just very persuasive.
Long story short, we should just be grateful that Mr. Price is willing to poke fun at the characters and is also willing to share his art with us.
She’s not. She doesn’t need to be. She’s an extremely successful entrepreneur (and the element of generosity, that too).
I’ve never been a fan of Price’s Rarity, or most/pretty much all of his characters. He seems to know how to bring out the worst in them and apparently likes to do it for laughs, but they’re not funny…the actual characters are appealing for not being the stereotypes he usually reduces them to.
Nah. It’s meant to be a shallow “lol she’s shallow” running gag.
Rarity did complement Hoofbeard’s looks a few times, but almost all of it was while talking to the rest of the mane 6 about him. She didn’t really flirt with him very much (one single line, and Hoofbeard wasn’t even paying attention), and wasn’t shown to be distraught when it was revealed that he was taken. Also not an Andy Price issue.
She never even hit on Good Sombra at all, she just thought he was attractive. So did Fluttershy. Immediately after they meet him they learn he’s in a relationship with Celestia. Both Rarity and Fluttershy want to know all the details, but obviously they won’t hit on someone who’s taken.
For Blackthorn, only two interactions in the whole arc. She comments on his attractiveness to Pinkie, and at the very end when he offers to help fix her boutique she invites him over while being a bit flirty. Could be hitting on him, or could just be her applying “pony charm” to get what she wants ala Dragonshy or Putting Your Hoof Down.
She does hit on the sheriff, while making it seem like she has an non-romantic ulterior motive. Unlike Blackthorn or the Red Dragon or the Nerd Pony this time it’s clearly because she thinks he’s hot.
Also you missed one: Tempeh from the Rarity Micro series, and the two of them went on an actual date. There’s alsoher date with 8-bit in FIENDship #5, but that was an arranged date by Shining Armor, not random flirting.
I think he asked for an arc where Rarity hits on two different males in the same arc. The joke is that she has a new male she hits on in every single arc.
I feel the same. There is a major disconnect between Rarity as a leading and supporting character. It’s like if denied a spotlight she is reduced to a stereotype.
@Background Pony #3258
Captain Hoofbeard in the pirates arc, Blackthorn in the deer arc, good King Sombra in Reflections, and Sheriff Tumbleweed in the cattle rustlers arc. Rarity hitting on new males in the comics is a recurring theme and you know it.
