“I always wanted to make my world. I didn’t mean to hurt somebody, make them feel bad.
I just wanted to show them the beauty. The calm.
This endless quiet. I was sure that I can make a perfect place, full of love, beauty and joy.
But my intentions were pure. But somebody understood them in the wrong way.
Now, my world is collapsing- the stars are fading, the neverending night is becoming to the day. My poor childen, they don’t know the light. Single ray can make them scared, or even blind. I want to hide them in my shadow, but my body isn’t big enough.
Them, over my head, they think that they’re heroes, the chosen ones. But the one who’s sufferring the most, is me. I want to tell them that I dind’t meant to.
But, unfortunately, we’re on completely other sides- the day and night.
Please, don’t.

The point of the contest seems to be to “twist fate”, ie. an alternate timeline for Equestria, without going completely alternate universe. A What If-scenario, rather than a roile reversal.
If I were to hazard a guess, it looks like a world where Luna wasn’t shunned, and where ponies actually liked the quiet beauty and joy of the night. She wanted to expand on that, and make more ponies realise there were nothing to fear, and the night was a nice place. A part of the nation misinterpreted her intentions, and saw it as an attempt to ussurp the diarchy and take power for herself. Seeing her as Nightmare Moon. They blocked out the sky, making her world wither and die in an eternal night, to the point her followers are even fearing the sight of sunlight. Luna/Nightmare Moon wants to help her people, but just isn’t powerful enough.
In other words, it’s a twist on the “if only Luna had ponies who loved her night, the Sisters would never have fallen apart”.
Big sis is just a meanie pants though, very controlling. I guess that sort of mentality can be born from ruling for as long as Celestia has.
