I’d love to see the chart of revised hairstyles that were rejected. As for what I think, she should go with whatever makes her happiest. All of the Mane Six could be bald and they’d still be the beautiful mares they are on the inside. It’s up to Glimaroonie to step up to the plate and make the magic of friendship bring her up to speed so that she can stand with the others.
 
Or it’s up to the writers, depending on your point of view. :3

I like it. It definitely gives her a much warmer vibe than her harsh, previous hairstyle. Though I do also miss the unique bangs/ponytail.

Among the things I greatly dislike/hate about Starlight Glimmer, her appearance is actually something I like quite a bit. I didn’t even notice that her hairstyle had changed, but it seems to fit her stabilized mind in season six decently enough.
 
Probably me overthinking it, but the way her horn was pretty much tearing through her bangs in her previous hairstyle was somewhat implying that she had been torn between two things in her life, and that magic was the cause of it. Again, very likely overthinking it.

I don’t see why everyone has a problem with her new hairstyle. This do fits her more thoughtful and outgoing personality, while the last one fit her stuffy and dictator-like self. Plus, it’s miles cuter; her S5 hairdo looks bland in comparison.

I’m inclined to agree with BP on this one. I’m sure Rarara would be the first to criticize the way Starlight looked and proposed to change it to symbolize her starting over as Twilight’s student.
 
I dunno, it seems just as plausible to me is all.
