I know this all too well (I’m not trying to stir up sympathy), since I’ve got Type 1 Diabetes. :/
high sugar, high fiber diets would prevent it even longer than just sugar, despite no more energy being provided.
of course fructose takes about an hour for the liver to process, so if you’re eating table sugar, hfcs, juice, candy, or anything like that, you get a delayed effect that f*cks up your metabolism. the only sugar that’ll give you real energy is glucose, i.e. corn sugar, dextrose, and complex carbohydrates.
so they say sugar doesn’t cause a rush, but they test with the kind of sugar that is more of a poison than a fuel source. it’s a flawed hypothesis based on bogus assumptions (that fructose == glucose).
Maybe that’s why they call it a “rush”?
Sugar rushes? Yeah, it’s placebo plus biased reporting (same normal behavior is going to reported as sugar rush by parents who think their kids has had sugar). Having more energy from carbohydrate-fat bar intake? Nope.
“Great googly moogly…”
Nope. Sugar rush imminent.
Sugar rush? Yeah, it is. But it can exist in cartoon world, I guess…
