Actually the “that was fast” tag has nothing to do with shipping, it’s for any fan art of an episode done within hours of the episode premiering
Two problems with that reasoning.
2 and more importantly. Someone said it was fixed and the Tenderbloom tag was added. Then why is it removed?
indeed
Fair enough.
You’re free to interpret the image however you would like. However, when it comes to tagging, anything that could be ambiguous (such as shipping or just friendly), what the artist says takes precedence. The artist said it’s not shipping, therefore, don’t tag it as shipping.
This, right here. This is the most important part.
No. I do not know this artist. I knight for no-one. My concern is proper tagging. And that is not how tagging here works.
The general rule is tagging what is shown in the image, which is Apple Bloom and Tender Taps dancing. No more. If there is doubt authorial intent takes precedence. The artist says it’s not shipping, then it’s not shipping. If tagging were done by “feeling” there would be endless tag wars.
And that is not a shy, downward look while pushing him away. It’s Apple Bloom looking at her feet while trying to dance upright and steadying herself against Taps.
One of dragonfoxgirl’s knights…..
Fair enough, but I still go with what the picture implies in this scene.
Intention or not, such a shy, downwards look like Applebloom has it here while pushing someone away during such a dance always means there are some romantic feelings involved.
And people have the right to interpret the picture differently than her and thus, can apply tags that reflect that interpretation of the picture so that others who see it the same way can find it easier.
Bringing back the tag now.
Because the artist did not intend this as shipping art.
Good question. Fixed.
They are adorable together though.
Dude, you’re the only one that thinks this was the case for a heated argument. Nobody was expecting that.
That’s not what happened and you should know better.
It’s just natural that the artist gives her personal view in the thread of her own art. More than that, it’s expected. Even more, it’s advocated. That does not mean she despises anyone who has a different stance.
Nope, you’re definitely wrong on this. That was her picture and her personal space, so she can define the rules of conduct she wants, as long as they’re compatible with DeviantArt’s policy. In fact, she banned you because you were making a gratuitous argument. It was her right to do so.
Notice she did not ban the original comment that was suggesting a sexual intercourse. And, in fact, the author of the post didn’t take it personally at all, like any other mature person would do.
Now I think the moderators of DeviantArt will have a good laugh about your report (not really, I think they’ll be more like: “Ugh, another one who wastes our time taking things too personally”), but if by chance you’ll have her account suspended you’ll have to expect consequences for you from the rest of the community. It’s not a threat, it’s a clear statement of what will happen.
On the other hand, you have been banned several times all around the community for this kind of meaningless and heated arguments, and you should start thinking it’s for a goddamn reason.
You even managed to upset AssasinMonkey, who is one of the kindest persons I’ve met online, to the point that he muzzled you in the chat. Jesus Christ, do you want a medal or what?
Discussions are sometimes heated, particularly in cases like this.
dragonfoxgirl can state her personal view on her own art as much as she wants, but going to someone and scolding him with saying “Oh no, they’re little kids”, basically telling him to not ship them and make suggestive jokes about them because they are children, is something else.
She can state her view in journals and her own comments. She can also politely explain someone her intentions with a picture, I’m fine with all of that.
But replying to someone’s comment simply with “Oh no, they’re little kids” is neither of the above, this is telling someone “Don’t ship them”, that’s easy to see if you look at the way the statement was worded and the fact that it contains nothing else than this one line.
This was a case of dragonfoxgirl feeling offended by a comment and telling the one who wrote this comment that he should stop making suggestive comments about a picture of hers, with the implication that he should stop shipping them entirely.
And she thought she had the right to tell him what to say because the comment was written by him on her account and under her picture which is, even though she owns both, a right she simply doesn’t have (and neither the right to block someone because she doesn’t like it what was said to her, that’s basically the Deviantart equivalent of an authoritarian ruler throwing someone into prison because he thinks something that was said to him was an affront against him).
Everyone is allowed and has the right to say anything he/she wants, under her pictures and everywhere else, without getting scolded for that like dragonfoxgirl did with SeriousJupiter, and quite clearly, dragonfoxgirl doesn’t care about this right.
“Oh no, they’re little kids” is not how you tell someone what your intentions behind your art piece are, or, how you said it, not how you state your personal view on your art.
This is an offended remark directly addressed to someone because of not liking what that someone said.
And telling someone what to do like she did with this remark is harassment by every definition and expression of common sense, so I reported her. That’s all there is to it.
Edited
Let me get this straight, you reported her for harassment just because she stated her personal view on her own art?
All I see is that you made an unnecessary heated argument, instead of conducting a polite and argumented discussion about the matter.
How about you stopping being a dick about it instead?
Nah, whatever ya thinking, ya have a mind that should exit the gutter.
Lies! Any ponies next to each or sharing a scene are in love! Get with the program, bub.
