Oho, that thread. I caught the tail end of it, but didn’t want to go back and read ~90 comments; apparently I missed some comedy gold there. But I am a bit disappointed that one BP didn’t come back and try to claim last comment, like he said he was trying to do.
That’s a pretty good comparison.
Honestly, due to the apparent lack of an organized police force for outlying cities like Ponyville (pretty much anyplace that’s not a metropolis like Canterlot or manehattan) and the number of attacks on canterlot that have happened, rudimentary magical self defense classes seem like they should be required learning.
Not unlike defense against the dark arts in harry potter.
You’d think that, but ponies don’t seem to believe in removing a problem entirely in the obvious way. It’s always defend, avoid, or temporarily neutralize.
I should think it would be for Celestia’s personal protégé given the kind of assignments such a person could expect to be given. Equestria hardly lacks of powerful enemies with potentially deadly magics, after all.
Equestrians would still need to know how to defend themselves from threats, so yes I argue combat magic or magic for use in battle would be a part of a proper magic education.
Though perhaps, I would offer, it is possibly a class you can take as additional or elective study… Though for royal guard unicorns such study would be required.

Well you have to wonder if combat is even a factor in what Equestria considers a proper magical education.
Now I still contend Twilight should have know combat magic, or at least magic that would have been more complex and able to counter Starlight’s magic.
Twilight is a prodigy if magic who had a proper magical eduction, and mentored by Princess Celestia herself who has over a thousand years of experience, a ruler who also happened to study under Starswirl the Bearded himself the father of all unicorn magic.
The battle should have realisically, if Starlight didn’t have plot armour and even arguably villianous sue qualities, gone in favor of Twilight. No questions asked.

An user (Soundtea):You conveniently left out that Twilight is not a fighter. She’s more concerned with turning random things into oranges for experiments, not honing spells specifically for a fight. Power != combat effectiveness.
Starlight can match against her because even if Twilight is a bit ahead power wise, she’s terrible at actually fighting. Also lets not forget the crazy strong powers Unitwi had.
Lucky Shot:I can’t “conveniently” leave out what I don’t know / forget about courtesy of not having watched the finale.
He even bolded the part himself in case you could have some doubt about his hypocrisy before doubling down with a wall of text DESPITE ADMITTING HE HAVENT WATCH AN EPISODE PRIOR AND BASED A WHOLE ANALYSIS WITH INCOMPLETE KNOWLEDGE
It doesnt matter if he watched it afterwards. He still talked out of his ass at the time he written that comment. That cast serious doubt in his intellectual honesty
He even had the balls to tell to the people who called him out of it in the thread were making “strawman arguments”
May i also mention how he vomit everything brony related despite being an artist that take comission. If you look at his art gallery, you can see some porn picture.Inb4:Anon,you’re kinkshaming.Absolutely not,i just find it extremely arrogant to vomit on the audience THAT IS SUSCEPTIBLE TO COMMISION THOSE PICTURES IN THE FIRST PLACE.Because, honestly, who is susceptible to commission porn pics of MLP characters(or to pay him on his Patreon to make those pictures. The answer is fan of the shows aka the bronies that he openly despise so much.Talk about bithing the hand that feed you
Lucky Shot is not someone to be taken seriously. He may write bombastic essay but if you take a closer look, the illusin fall apart and all that is left is an angry little man that play the misunderstood artist/misunderstood critic card to stroke his ego
Ah, my mistake is thinking otherwise. It could be any of you suggestions, though I would have hope of it being a good episode and not an unbearable train wreck or generic sitcom romp.
Ooh, wish I could see that.
He is talking out of his ass.He even write long tirade on episode he openly admit he didnt bother to watch. He’s just here to start shit
Says the comment I was replying to. Personally, I’d say it could result in a generic sitcom romp, a fun light comedy, an unbearable train wreck, a heartfelt exploration of relationships, or a mix of two or more of the preceding.
Come now. An “incredibly bad” episode idea, says who? Given how the writers have given us great episodes I feel they could pull off the above quite well.
Because checking the tags takes all of 3 seconds?
But I guess it doesn’t matter to you whether it’s fake or not, if you’re no longer watching the show anyway. Or at least I assume you aren’t, if your automatic assumption on seeing an incredibly bad episode idea is that it must be true.
Innocuous at a glance? Not too many images on this site have the amount of comments this one does. That implies a certain degree of controversy which in turn means a second look (while not required) is probably a good idea.
I think it’s fair to say one jumps the gun a little declaring a fake synopsis as damning evidence that the show is on the decline.
What sensible people don’t do is see something innocuous that at a glance appears to conform to reality in a fair number of ways and immediately go looking for evidence that they’ve been deceived. And something tells me that you’re more than familiar with people looking at you like your head is stuffed up your ass.
Honestly, though I am in the minority in believing this, I see the prequel series as not baf movies and feel Anakin is simply a flawed character, one who had potential for greatness yet allowed his emotions and arrogance to control him. He had though I feel been a good person, and did many heroic things… Yet also did terrible things, let the dark side rule him.

Well, sensible people tend to double check things lest they be seen as talking out of their asses.
✓ Consistent with modern incredibly bad episode ideas
✓ Consistent with “Point of story was already focus of like 3 episodes before (and still hasn’t been resolved)”
✓ Drama in the comments like it was legitimate
Why would I have bothered to check the tags?
Yeah, and using this example doesn’t cast a very good light on the point you’re trying to make.
It “happened” in a poorly constructed story. Making it “happen” here? Well…
What an unlucky shot, ooooh burn!

Welp, someone missed the
fake
tag.
