It’s going to be a double edged sword. On one hand eating it will regain a portion of health, on the other hand it will leave you stunned (while eating) for approximately 1 whole second, an eternity in fighting games. Not only that but if you get hit during the eating animation you receive NO health benefits.
 
Now here’s the kicker; The devs are toying with the idea of having the items on the ground flash a button input above them (A, B, C & D). If you push that button while near it you will eat the item. Meaning if you are comboing someone over the item and you hit the corresponding button your combo will STOP so the character can eat the item. Brutal stuff.

They were toying with the idea of giving Pinkie an eating mechanic in Fighting is Magic, to reload her canon. I didn’t expect them to bring the idea back for Arizona though. I imagine it would break too much of the balance if it was anything other than purely a visual thing though.
