I think he was referring to this:
@Officer Hot-Pants
You’d think the part about Blueblood would have made it obvious.
…And on a more serious note, I’m pretty sure Shining wouldn’t dare sneak around behind Cadance’s back while there’s still Changelings out there. Tough luck, Pinkie.
Thanks!
I just posted it here instead. But I’m not going to upload other pages (I want people to buy the book, it’s pretty cool). https://derpiboo.ru/1144601
Interesting, thanks. Would you mind maybe quoting it exactly?
I have the book. What it says is:
|| Rarity = refuses to answer
Rainbow Dash = unnamed guy on the baseball team
Pinkie Pie = Shining Armor
Fluttershy = Sandalwood (not named, but his picture is shown)
Applejack = her childhood friend Johnathan from another apple farm
Sunset Shimmer = Has no crush ||
Wait, they released a shipping chart? Was this, like, canon ships (Cakes, etc.) with Applejack added on, or…
That Canterlot High Tell-All book that came out not too long ago and got like zero attention apparently has a part that talks about their “secret crushes”… I kind of want to see what the book has to say there.
i’m pretty sure that was a joke.
I remember when they released a shipping chart on the offical facebook page, and Applejack apparently was in a committed relationship with them.
… you do remember what show we’re talking about, right? They’re probably not going to do an episode about adultery any time this century.
@TheOtakuX
The fans have been shipping everyone with everyone. There’s a huge difference in even suggesting doing it in an official product.
Oh. So in other words what half the fandom was doing by season two anyway.
Rainbow & Fluttershy.
Basically nobody would complain if he were to use, say, Lyra and Bon Bon, because other than most of the fandom already thinking they were gay for years, the 100th episode was clearly playing it up. At SDCC last year the VAs had Lyra getting jealous about AJ talking to Bon Bon in an improved skit, and the recent chapter book really made them seem more like a couple than just friends, despite the constant use of the phrase ‘best friends’.
Who did he pick, anyway?
I do not disagree that dude needs to calm down and stop engaging with internet people, but let’s be objective: the only reason he’s arguing with people is because people got uppity and he has a chip on his shoulder, following the comment string and searching his name on Twitter shows folks start barking at him first, he already explained himself and people kept pulling, but there’s no sign he wasn’t honest when he said it was just an example.
>By reactionary internet creeps you mean.
No, by people that know of “reactionary internet creeps”, they would know how it would get them to start shit.
So like I said “So by standards of anyone that understand how it’s a problem.”.
That;s kind of the problem here, he used it as an example but then went to to argue about it with people.
If he used it only because it’s what came to ind that should be what he says, it was just what came to mind when talking about it.
No reason for it beyond that so to argue over things from that is what is messing it all up, his just digging himself deeper.
By reactionary internet creeps you mean. People’s opinions don’t always end up in their work, most of the writers are against a monarchy but work on a show where the ultimate power is given to a goddess queen instead of a proper democracy. There’s nothing wrong as long as he doesn’t shit out more Dragontown stories (which was bad because it was bad, not because of it’s message’s purpose).
He said that he used Fluttershy and Dash as example only because it’s what came to his mind at the panel, he doesn’t really think they should hook up in particular, though he is arguing against people that said “she cant be gay she was never gay before” because he doesn’t think a character that never showed romantic tendencies before coming out as gay is a plot hole as much as it was simply not mentioned before.
But to work on licensed material and be tumblr-ish is where it’s a problem.
So by standards of anyone that understand how it’s a problem.
