“Don’t worry.” She cooed softly to the colt. He sighed quietly and fluttered his wings contently, “Things will be different this time. I’ll be there for you, Apollo. I promise.”
Have some MomLestia
I really like to think that a big part of Celestia’s depression before she got Apollo was the fact that she regretted giving Daybreak up. Cele might be a tad overprotective, but she just wants to make sure that Apollo never feels like his mother abandoned him. He is brought to all her events, and every extra moment she has is spent with her son.
Apollo grows up with a large love and respect for his mother. He has weekly tea parties with her, and is constantly bringing her presents from conventions and summits he has to attend.
When Apollo was 5 he made his mommy a gold and purple macaroni necklace since she said purple and gold were her favorite. Celestia showed up to the court sessions that day with a macaroni necklace and a very smiley and bouncy son. Who’s gonna reprimand her? She’s literally God Horse.
What was the story with Daybreak? I’ve always had this idea about Celly having a sort of “Kylo Ren” son that resents her and undermines her. I imagined him as being raised by her, but a child given up could work too.
