It could be a number of factors for why you see it that way, but I have to say that Background Pony Number 17’s statment of “better as a source of memes than as an actual movie” is not really the truth.
Again there number of factors in that view but for some the memes would mean nothing without the movie being good in it;s own right to them.
I know some people that do not care for it, and some that like it far more then I do.

I completely disagree with you. In my opinion, The Big Lebowski is a masterpiece.
It’s one of those movies that’s better as a source of memes than as an actual movie. If that makes any sense.
