p.s.: chose snarling Trixie face without alicorn amulet on purpose.
Just a reminder that she still wasn’t nice when she was (implied to be) freed from its influence.
Quite honestly I thought Trixie in season 3 and Starlight in season 5 were both incredibly horrible savage bitches who got away with their cruel deeds with no punishment whatsoever.
So they have that in common.
But they were both so likable and complex in their episode together.
Its nice that they are self-aware of their issues and seem to be trying to be better.
@Mrmildock
You make some pretty good points there dude. Im the same there when I get defensive over a character I like, getting hate in comments. I always end up regretting all kinds of stuff. Gotta admit, Starlight has some amazing fan art. ^^
@SJArt117
Well to be honest, people can be rude myself included and get on the “Defensive Wagon” like myself, over something like this. But at the end of the day, it’s just really one’s opinion. Yeah there are those people who can’t accept one’s opinion, or even several in this matter, and end up making complete fools of themselves. And I admit, I myself get defensive and end up regretting it later.
But my main issue is that, the starlight bashing (at this point any character bashing like Diamond tiara, Gilda, Flash, Flurry), does get a bit annoying from time to time. For me, I just don’t like scrolling through the starlight tag to find hate images of her. I also hate random hate comments on images that are just Fan Art or vectors of her (obviously to stir a reaction) But that’s just me. I don’t mind people hating Starlight (and I completely understand why people do) but It does get pretty obnoxious to hear the same “Starlight Sucks” comments over and over and over again. But hey, it’s the internet

Sorry for ranting, I just wanted to put it out there.
Seems reasonable to me, actually, even if I personally never actually “hated” either character.

While I disagree with their opinions on Glimmer, I don’t think they were obnoxious enough to deserve such a response.
@Mrmildock
Yeah, when Starlight Glimmer was first introduced, I was really interested in her character and hopeful they’d use her to explore cutie marks further. While I was disappointed by her redemption, I’ve been willing to give her a chance in her new role, and so far I’m reasonably happy with how she’s been handled this season.
I’ve always quite liked Trixie, and kinda do prefer her self-centered persona, but either way, I do like her.
..And with Starlight, I would have much preferred her to stay evil, or at least redeemed and not a main character.
I swear people aren’t allowed opinions round here most the time
I actually really like Trixie even when she was selfish. There’s this odd fascination around that just makes her naturally likable.
Starlight on the other hand is like a black void. Devoid and Lifeless is everything I’d used to describe her. Think her villainous character and the questioning of Cutie Marks was way more interesting than her discovering friendship.
Starlight, (I must admit) was one of the few FIM villains I actually liked, and though I prefer her as an evil badass, she still gets undeserved hate. Really gets annoying too.
Only the people who see fit to make their hateful opinions known on fan art and other places where it’s unsolicited, being a killjoy to her fans.

if they never became good they could’ve become dr. doom and namor. best buds but know they will both stab the other in the back to suit their purposes.
@dt
Starlight Glimmer did literally nothing wrong though. And did you see her amazing magical powers? Nobody with powerful magic can really be that bad you guys.
Sombra kinda exploded, and Chrissy got blasted off with the power of love. I’m sure they’ll see the magic of friendship in due time though.
Don’t forget, guys. Starlight did some terrible things in her past tha-
Oh you did forget? Well, just to remind you, Starlight did some terrible things in her past. But she’s over that now, and she’s just trying to make friends. Unless you’re not talkative, then she wants nothing to do with you.
Don’t forget about Starlight’s terrible past, guys. She’s going to mention it every single time you see her.
Really? Cuz I think Trixie is at her best when she’s a showboating egomaniac, and Starlight as a character nosedived into complete shit when she was “redeemed.”
Says the “Sunset Shimmer Fanboy”
So they have that in common.
