Education systems put in place with specific tribes in mind:  
Pegasi focus on flight and weather control because those tend to be their strengths, same for the unicorns and their magic, with the highest standards of learning due to magic functioning like a field of science.  
That one room schoolhouse is basically a small town’s part of a general education system that encourages diverse knowledge needed for careers outside their traditional roles, job-specific knowledge being acquired in an apprenticeship system in my headcanon.  
Traditional earth pony education would most likely be a mix of hereditary farming apprenticeship and homeschooling, with the former being the higher priority.

I wonder, what is worse: Manehattan school, or Flight Camp/School.

Earth Pony schools: The one-room schoolhouse from “Little House on the Prairie.”  
Unicorn schools: Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft.  
Pegasi schools: Spartan military academy.
