Maybe 22 rebresent GAMMA, and look at the hair color for all three of them.
The thing is, is that many, very many, tests were conducted beforehand at each different trial (each animal). As we go up the list, more and more tests are taken than before. Eventually, when we reach human level, it is very controlled and risk is the smallest it could be. It depends on the situation, but that’s the general practice.
There was one study that killed several human subjects, but it took 60 years. The test was to see which age groups responded better to caffeine. Young adults died sooner, older people lived longer.
I guess, the more notable thing being it took 60 years to complete. X3
Edited
okay. so we minimized the risk first before test.
Edited
You do know that we test humans all the time when we’re at that stage right? And by that stage, risk is at most minimal.
Okay. but testing something that can kill human are a big problem.
Edited
The most accurate test is on humans, but we have to do all those other tests (flies, mice, pigs, primates) to get there. And again about the reproduction cycles, it’s not actually that big of a problem since we’ve done all those other tests beforehand, therefore it’s more than likely very few mishaps will occur.
I think my sentence there just an over exaggerated. yeah pig share like 98% with us mouse share around 95% with us even banana share around 40% with us. but 99%? only chimpanzee share that much with us. and yes we use another animals too, but if we need to test like a drug on animal to predict how it going to the effect do in on human. we are going to get more accurate information with chimpanzee than other animal.
Not exactly true, considering that about 50-something percent of human DNA is similiar to a common housefly. We use those for tests too.
But we do use other animals like baboons and monkeys. But yes, chimps are the closest to humans.
Edited
Well yeah that’s a problem too. And the problem with other animal is that nothing come close in term of gene similarity than chimpanzees to human.
The bigger problem is reproduction cycles but a problem in modern times is whether we’re allowed to use chimps anymore since there’s been on going debate chimps should be considered the same as human people.
And it’s not like they only have one animal to test at a time y’know. They have many.
Edited
But the biggest problem isn’t about the ethic it’s about the reproduction cycle around 230 days or almost 20 times than a mice. So if one chimpanzee die in the lab it going to take 230 days to replace it.
Edited
Well yeah we share 98% of our gene with pig. but pig reproduction cycle is around 114 days compare to the mice witch is around 14 days and also mice can give birth 3-14 offspring.
It depends more on ethical reasons why we use smaller organisms like mice, but as our tests get continuously successful, we move up to bigger and more similiar organisms. There are groups of people who are against testing on chimpanzees because our DNA is so similiar.
@angrybrony
Pigs are very close too, but chimpanzees are much closer. We use them in testings too, they’re somewhere in the middle of mice and chimps.
Edited
i thought that was pigs or is that something.
Well because we share around 95 % of gene with mice. And honest if chimpanzees reproduction Process are as fast as a mice we probably going to use chimpanzee more than mice because we share are 99% of our gene with it.
Yeah, probably because that’s my major. If you’re so sure that mice and humans are so different why do we use mice as tests for medicine and the such?
And considering that you didn’t even know invitrofertilization was a thing, yeah I’m pretty sure you haven’t studied biology.
Edited
what and you know more?
It’s possible. You obviously don’t know biology so why are you arguing with me?
>If it can happen to mice, it can happen to humans.
…i don’t think that’s how it works.
If it can happen to mice, it can happen to humans. Naturally, no, but the way you’re wording it sounds rude.
no i’m just stating the fact that it’s not going to happen naturally for humans.
Do you like making fun of the fact 2 human women can’t make a baby? Or does hating any type of shipping make you blind to how rude you are?
