I like to think in a universe where everyone says things like “somepony” that their language has evolved differently than in our universe, like how English phrases have different meanings depending on where you are in our world. So I can buy that in the poniverse “feather” and “buck” and “peeved” actually are bad words.
I also like to the idea that Shy is the most foul-mouthed of the mane 6.
