For the record, I don’t think Night Star was an intentional double agent. I’m suspecting something more nefarious going on here than a simple “She was a changeling all along!”

she probably is a good changeling, so thats why i wrote a paragraph of my theory of her being a friendly crimson changeling, possibly being the queen too.

Plot twist: she’s actually a good changeling and doesn’t kill anyone, no sirree, nuh-uh.
 
Also, expression in the third panel. That doesn’t really scream “about to murder someone” to anyone, does it?

wait, she also might be the queen of the crimson changelings because she is taller than an ordinary changeling, or maybe crimson changelings just happen to be naturally tall, but i won’t be suprised if she happens to be the queen of the crimson changelings.

if that is the case, she had the chance to tear apart the rebels, but instead she didn’t, so this could mean that one, she is going to make her attack on them now, or two, she will become their ally since she didn’t kill any members of the rebels and will help them take down twilight, but it would probably be one because night star was probably already a member until the crimson changeling took her place, or maybe the crimson changeling took night star’s form before the war between the crimson changelings and twilight, so that would mean that the crimson changeling set herself up as a suprise attack on twilight, and probably also a spy so that she could learn the ways of the rebels, learn twilight’s weakpoints, and then when spike starts a war on twilight, the the crimson changeling’s plan on taking down twilight swiftly would work. long story short, i hope the crimson changeling stays friendly towards the rebels but i doubt that would happen.

Yes. While a normal changling has a green flash, the crimson variant have a red aura. This is due to them being more violent and bloodthirsty, which is why normal changling stay away from them. To make is simple, a normal changling is a garden snake, while crimson are king cobras.

Hm, I could’ve worded that better. I didn’t mean that Fallout Equestria was hated, just that it wasn’t something that everyone liked. Some fans aren’t interested in mixing grimdark with MLP, so it’s something they know of but don’t really want to seek out.

They’re ancient, and this comic is new. Those have probably already been discussed to death, while this comic is new and still developing. Some people are throwing in their two cents hoping that the feedback might push the story in a direction they like.
 
Also, that those two stories they’re well known doesn’t mean they’re well liked. Lots of people know about Fallout Equestria and Past Sins, but that doesn’t mean those receive universal acclaim from this fandom. The same is true of Cupcakes and Rainbow Factory; I’ve heard plenty of people write them off as mindless grim-derp nonsense.
