i don’t like gen 5 just by the idea (and the shorts are poorly drawn) so i just choose to ignore it all together, fans can enjoy it but i refuse to watch it given the idea, so you can give it another chance but the idea of the gen is really not a good idea and is just to get money if it has anything gen 4 related when they should of done it’s own thing
people are too afraid to try new things because they want only to use things that make more money (like the use of CGI in kids’ movies and shows) so i rather ignore it

i agree gen 5 messed up all of the character’s work (and Equestria’s founder’s work) just to bring up whatever gen 5 is, is sad and i will never see it as canon especially since the ponies look so different it does not make sense
yes the fandom refuses to admit it but i refuse to watch gen 5 and stick to gen 4 and past gens
I am trying my best to give it a fair chance, I went in with an open mind and gave it a shot, several things stood out such as the lack of windigos, the segregation of the pony species, one sided cutie mark etc., I thought, maybe I should give it time to explain, so I decided to wait longer and give it a fairer chance. We got the special, and that brought up more questions than it solved. The poorly drawn YouTube series is a series of shorts that doesn’t answer any questions.
The closest we’ve gotten are the IDW comics and who knows if their info is canon or if this is another case of separated universes. But if it is, the explanation as to the disappearance of magic is absolutely Ludacris and makes no sense given why it happens the way it does, it isn’t an extreme Twilight would go to and it seems like a ploy so we can get a rehashed story of bringing the friendship back.
That being said I’m trying to be as fair as I possibly can be, so I am still going to give the series 2 more episodes to make sense. Namely the premier of the Netflix series, and if it can’t live up to generation 4’s season 1 episode 1+2 Friendship is magic, then I may just call it a lost cause. It’s not because I want to hate it I really don’t, what Brony wants to hate the next gen of MLP?
but I’m an individual and as an individual I’m not just going to sit there like a circus seal and clap at everything I see regardless of the breaks in continuity, I don’t work like that.

You either leave the fandom happy with what you got, or you stay long enough to become and old man yelling at clouds.
Oh no don’t get me wrong I’m happy with Gen 4, but that doesn’t absolve the next generation from criticism. I have every right as a fan to criticize the direction of Gen 5, nothing is beyond criticism, and I think my points are pretty valid.

Although we’re moving on to g5 now, g4 will always have a place in our hearts, and be there for us when we need it most, to spread the magic that Twilight and her friends provided us with for 9 amazing years.
Forgive me for not pulling my punches, but who’s moving on to G5? There are too many problems with it. the show has 2 more episodes to get me into it, a daunting and downright impossible thing to accomplish if you ask me.
I’ve watched the movie, the special and at least a few episodes of its poorly drawn YouTube series and from what I’ve gathered they don’t really seem to care about continuity, G5 seems more like a soulless cash grab, yet some Brony refuse to admit this because we all desperately wanted more MLP content.
At this point I’m inclined to believe that western entertainment as a whole is creatively bankrupt because this is essentially a rehash of Generation 4 but done with less memorable characters, the fact that I was able to deduce from the very first movie that they intended to make this a rehash shows how poorly their attempts to mask this fact have been, or the effort they put in is just that low. Generation 4 is by far superior for this alone, as much hate as this will get me there is no better way to say it then to just be blunt and to the point.

I mean they will remember G4 too, but hey; that can happen too.
Of course the fandom will live on… watching G5, then G6, and so on…
And the fans of the future will argue on which of the generations was better.
And after it’s all over, the fandom will still live eternal. Especially with animations like this to remind us.
So many memories.
SFDebris and Linkara did it first!
Little Twilight’s all grown up.
…CAARLE!!! THAT KILLS PEOPLE!!!
Actually, it was liquid pride.
I’ve found the cure for a broken heart…
Never mind, I think I found her, a 16-frame appearance. If she’s waving I can’t see it, though.
@Joshua
@Sgtnolisten
One little hint, if it’s OK: Does she appear near the beginning, near the end, or more in the middle part of the scene?
And then someone can make a montage of clips from the whole series set to a small snippet of “Under Pressure.”
Okay. I think I see her but it’s so fast it’s hard to tell…
I stubbed my toe
