The style reminds me a lot of Awkward Zombie, but I doubt she’s into Nyx, so maybe it’s an edit. Unfortunately I can’t find the original by digging through Pokemon comics in the archive, so who knows.
@CyanLightning: Now that you mention it, there is one example that I can think of that’s neither overpowered or a Mary Sue, despite being constantly accused of being the latter. Micaiah from Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Sure, some of her abilities seem “Suish”. (Being able to heal by transferring her energy to an injured person. Being able to see into the future. Being able to sing a certain song that not just any member of a certain imperial royal family can use to full ability. And is the older sister of the current empress of said empire.) But she’s noticeably far from the “most OP” unit in her game. (Units like Sothe, Volug, Titania, and Haar are among the most noteworthy examples of units that are more “OP” than Micaiah.) And she frequently runs into close calls despite coming out victorious in Pt1, and ends up making decisions that effectively end up in losses or stalemates in Pt3. And in Pt4, she’s basically demoted to extra. Heck, in Pt3, the decisions she makes in Pt3 are so questionable, she can end up with people ABANDONING her army. Not gonna go into more details, but overall, she is a well-rounded character who’s simply doing what she feels is right over the course of the story. Even though her decisions aren’t (always) the right ones.
In all honesty, I’d say all of the “Mary Sue” accusations thrown at her come from Pt4 dropping the ball on its overall writing.

You know Overpowered doesn’t equal mary sue, Flurry Heart is Overpowered but because she doesn’t saved the day in fact she actually almost destroy the day it doesn’t make her a mary sue and the same thing can be said to Starlight Glimmer in season 5 finale. While I haven’t read anything about Nyx but based of the fan description of her she is an overpowered character not a mary sue. but despite that you can still make a good even great overpowered or even a mary sue character. Like Bill Cipher from gravity fall he actually an overpowered character but because how he interacted with his environment he is a great character that most of the Gravitu Falls fan love.
@CyanLightning
In my opinion, Mary Sues still exist. For example, I’ve been watching Miraculous Ladybug to see what it’s about, and I got Mary Sue vibes from Ladybug as soon as I saw my first episode. I don’t hate her, it’s just so visible to me.
And Twilight is a flawed, thus likeable character. This is mostly apparent in season 1 in my opinion.
@Zahnrad
Honestly the term “mary sue” has been destroyed by the internet. is used to be “an idealized and seemingly perfect fictional character, a young or low-rank person who saves the day through unrealistic abilities.” by wikipedia. but right now it’s just mean a You like what i don’t like. and the Something happen with “Overrated”.
@Zahnrad
I am not sure whether you said that twilight really have a bad character or just joking around. Or something else because of those emo-icon I can’t take your comment seriously.

Easy, you use it as an excuse to cover up your actual motivations (i.e. “stop liking what I don’t like.”).
Probably something akin to Rey in latest Star Wars - on the surface might look flawed, but in practice succeeds at everything

joking around.
but if we’re being serious, it’s funny that one is a mary sue for being fanon, yet Twi can pull off more absurd stuff and isn’t because she’s canon.

Yeah, we have Twilight as an example anyway :^)
By every definition, Nyx is a terrible OC.
I guess she’s just too cute to hate.
