After reading this, it only feels right for me to say that my deepest respect goes to you and your cousin. Even though the original picture was just an image macro with some text edited in, I agree that they should take this down for the association.  
My condolences.

Mmmyeaaah-no, I really cannot see the humor in this. This is just messed up. It is basically laughing at the deaths of many people. I can laugh at taunting of the terrorists who performed this act, but this is just focusing on the tragedy itself, and expecting people to laugh at it.
 
Yes, it happened 15 years ago, but do you see people uploading photos of the mass graves from the holocaust and suggesting we laugh at it? No, because it isn’t something to laugh about, and that happened much more than 15 years ago. The only exception is if you are part of the terrorist group yourself, or support their actions, in which case, I strongly disapprove of your existence.

TL;DR : come back when it happens to you. 15 years after that, you can tell me what I should feel.

By the way, yes it will be 15 years ago next month, but I can still see the image of the tower coming down on him on live TV, knowing that he had been heading there to help.

First of all, if it were just the joke, I’d be fine with it. My issue is that my work https://derpiboo.ru/1217998?scope=scpee919b976f28e3a62521e85e59c7af0df2fc3eaf2 was perverted into this.
 
Second of all, when you are on the phone with someone you love and respect, planning a vacation with them when they see a plane crash, then hours later find out that he was murdered, you don’t just leave it behind. I don’t expect someone who has never had that happen to them to understand.
 
Third, my work was perverted into something that insults said person. That burns. It is an insult to me, my cousin, my family, and the thousands of other victims and families that cannot forget.
